Sermons from Waverly First Baptist Church, Waverly, NY. Pastor Steve Dygert. This week we're looking at Jesus' calling the four fishermen to be his disciples. Jesus Calls us today, too. And how we respond to that call is vitally important.
We can easily mistake the call of God for the call of humanity. God still calls to us anyway, repeatedly. How do we know it's really God? Through prayer. Pray about whether the messages you receive are from God or from the world, consult with fellow Christians, and listen to the words God speaks.
This week is Epiphany Sunday on our church calendar, which brings us to the Wise Men. As the magi received the sign and discovered Christ, we can too—by seeing his signs and hearing his call. So look for God’s work in your life and follow the signs he gives you.
