This week we are in Matthew 16, looking at Jesus' command to carry our cross. Jesus starts with an issue of disunity. There is an issue that divides. From there, Jesus exposes the culprit, and then gives us the solution. We'll see what it means to carry our cross? We'll see the implications? And we'll see what it looks like to live for Jesus?
This week we look at the Caaninite woman with the demon possessed daughter. Jesus refuses to heal her. Why? Was it something that she did? Was there something about her? Or was there something Jesus wanted to see, first. He did eventually heal her daughter. But why the delay? Let's look at this passage today. Grab your Bibles, we're in Matthew 15.
This weeks passage takes us to the story of Peter walking on water. Yes, Peter walked on water. It didn't last long, he began to sink fairly soon. Sometimes it feels like we're sinking. What happened to bring him to it, and what can we learn from his sinking?

We are finishing up our look at Jesus' instructions before sending out The Twelve to teach and to heal in Matthew 10. There are 37 verses of instructions, this morning, we're looking at the last three. In these verses we get a glimpse of somthing that could resemble a rewards program for those who follow Jesus. We flesh it our using a number of other passages, but we'll see that there are some guidelines, things we must do, just one really, but we'll look at ways to make sure we are doing it; there are acceptible helps, three ways we can get along the way; and there are the rewards, and I've identified five rewards that we receive here in this life. Let's see how this all comes together.
We are looking at Jesus' instructions before sending out The Twelve to teach and to heal in Matthew 10:24-39. We also see in this passage that it is enough to be like Jesus, in fact, that should be our goal, we are reminded not to be afraid - fear God, not men, we are reminded to give acknowledgement to God, publicly, when He provides for you, and we are reminded that as beleivers, we should love God a little more, He should be our first priority.
We see the phrase "Like sheep without a shepherd fairly often in the Bible, today we'll what it means when Jesus said it, and some implications for us today. We'll how the needs of the people were great in that time, and we'll see how they are great in our time. And we'll see Jesus' solution...
