This is both Christmas Sunday and the first Sunday after Christmas. We'll be looking a passage in 1st Samuel, and comparing it to a passage in Luke, with the goal of learning about growing stronger in our faith.

Today is the fourth week of the Season of Advent, a time we set aside to prepare ourselves for His coming. We'll talk about the Christmas Story in the context of the struggles that Mary & Joseph had to endure. We often think of it a beautiful story, which it is, but they had their fair share of struggles. Sometimes we have struggles. Their story reminds us that that doesn't mean God has left us, we can be truly blessed and still struggle with things of life.

So this week we'll dig a little deeper into John the Baptist and his ministry to prepare the way for the coming of the Christ Child. There are a few lessons I think we can learn from his message along the Jordan.
